Litro and Laugfs requested to just convey LPG up to SLSI principles



The Court of Appeal has coordinated the two biggest providers of condensed oil gas in Sri Lanka - Litro Gas Lanka Limited and Laugfs Gas PLC – to just appropriate items that are consistent with the guidelines supported by Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI).


This between time request was given by Appeals Court Judges Ruwan Fernando and Sampath Wijeratne when the writ application documented by open interest suit lobbyist Nagananda Kodituwakku was taken up toward the beginning of today.


In his request, Kodituwakku likewise looked for the Appeals Court to guide the Inspector-General of Police to start criminal examinations against Minister of Trade Bandula Gunawardena, State Minister of Consumer Protection Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Chairman of Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA), and the Director-General of Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) on the matter.


He affirmed that the importation and conveyance of unacceptable LP gas have brought about various hazardous episodes across the island.


During the present procedures, the adjudicator seat additionally requested the two gas organizations to review the unused gas chambers that have effectively been delivered to the market.


Further, Litro Gas Lanka and Laugfs Gas were coordinated to show a sticker on chambers demonstrating the synthesis of LPG.
